FAQ

What distinguishes Falcata plywood from classic plywood?

This is an ultra-lightweight Falcata wood-based plywood, selected where maximum weight reduction counts while maintaining rigidity in indoor applications.

Is Falcata plywood suitable for the production of furniture and buildings (e.g. camper)

Yes - especially for light furniture, partitions, fronts, shelves, beds, wherever weight is crucial.

Do I need special tools to work with Falcata plywood?

No, but it is crucial that the tools are sharp and in good condition. Plywood (especially light) strongly "shows" errors: blunt cutter/saw = more fraying, tearing and burning. For CNC and precise formats, it is an absolute must-have.

Why is the sharpness of the tool so important for ultra-light plywood?

Because with a low core density, the fibers are easier to fray, and the blunt blade instead of cutting - jerks and crushes the structure.

How to reduce shredding of the edges during cutting?

Here are some tips:

  • Maintain sharp blades / cutters,
  • Always have a support underneath,
  • Select correct cutting direction
  • Add masking tape on the cutting line with delicate veneers.

What to watch out for drilling and screws?

In light cores, the risk is to shoot through and hold the screw in a weaker thin cross-section.

Good practices include:

  • always drill (especially at the edges),
  • selection of wood screws with the right thread,
    with higher loads:
    • bushings, rivet nuts, inserts or gluing + structural connections.

Is Falcata plywood a hardwood plywood?

Yes, our Falcata plywood belongs to the category of hardwood, made of exotic wood of the same name - Falcata.

Can Falcata plywood be veneered and varnished?

Yes, that's one of its strengths. It is important to prepare beforehand: even grinding, dust removal, selection of the paint system and adhesion test on a sample.

Does this plywood hold the screws well?

Yes, despite the low weight, the plywood ensures a stable hold of the screws and furniture fittings.

Is Falcata plywood suitable for CNC and serial furniture production?

Yes. Remember to implement a "quality package" during processing: sharp tools, extraction, proper CAM parameters and batch input testing standard.
